The Autenrieth Company, known around the world as AutCo, is a multi-generational family owned and operated business. We have been successfully exporting fresh fruits and produce worldwide since 1976. We pride ourselves on our global reputation for our honesty, integrity and transparency, based on a strict work ethic and open communications. Our goal is to successfully engage in business that operates under these principles and to establish long-term relationships.

In April 1976 The Autenrieth Co. officially became a California Corporation and first began exporting fresh fruit. It was started in a home office by Robert’s late father, Bob Autenrieth, who had recently left his employment at Sunkist Growers of 28 years. Bob at the time was a seasoned and well respected member of the International produce industry. Bob was hired by Sunkist in 1948, began his career part time in the mailroom and worked his way up to become the first Vice President of Marketing in 1974. AutCo is currently owned and operated by Robert H. Autenrieth II. Robert’s introduction into the Produce Industry came in 1974. On the recommendation of a family friend, he was hired by Castle and Cooke (Dole) as an in-store Merchandiser in the San Francisco Bay area. Then, in 1976, moved into Fresh Fruit Sales in the Seattle District office. Robert came to The Autenrieth Co. in January 1977, as its first General Manager, and in 1984 became its owner and President. Robert’s “love of the Industry and his life long relationships” has made it easy to have devoted his entire professional career to successfully exporting fruits and vegetables. 

Daniel Kass has joined the Autenrieth as Company Director of Sales & Marketing in 2024. A seasoned professional with over three decades in the citrus and produce industry.  A graduate of the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science degree and an MBA holder from Florida Tech. 

His professional journey commenced at Blue Goose Growers in Vero Beach, FL, later acquired by the renowned Dole Food Company to establish Dole Citrus. Beginning in export sales, Daniel's dedication and expertise propelled him through various roles over 37 years, witnessing the evolution of the citrus industry and the global produce trade. Daniel's expertise spans across the citrus and produce industries of Florida, Texas, California, Mexico, and Australia, managing the importation of southern hemisphere citrus to North America. With extensive travels to 54 countries, and having resided in Tokyo Japan, he possesses profound knowledge of markets across Asia, Europe, South America, and Australia/New Zealand.
